Success is what we do.

We’ve been improving students’ grades, self-confidence & motivation for more than 40 years.  All of our tutoring is prescriptive, with programs designed for each student individually, then monitored and adapted constantly based on your child’s needs, learning styles, interests, and growth.

Very Special Mentor Programs

These very special programs may be selected as add-ons to any Tutorific After School Program.  They are in development and will evolve with time into what best suits the needs of our community.  (805) 482-3730

Peer-to-Peer Mentoring (Mentors, 4 – 5; Mentored, K – 2)

We pair older students with younger ones in order to build confidence, respect, and appreciation in both.  4th and 5th graders become Mentors to K – 2nd graders.  They can meet once or twice per week, and can spend time talking, sharing, and playing as well as working through reading and math assignments beneficial to both.  Mentors can earn points toward certificates.  We will initially offer this to participants in our various after school programs without charge to you or parents.  If you would like us to arrange this for kids outside of our program, we can accommodate that at a fair minimum price.

Tutorific Mentor Program (K – 5)

From time to time, in specific cases of extreme need, Tutorific staff or volunteers can mentor kids who would benefit from such grown-up mentoring.  For example, a  student newly arrived from Vietnam, just beginning to learn English as his third language and unsure of the culture here, might go on a field trip with his Tutorific Mentor to a restaurant and market.

Tutorific’s “My Other Dad” & “My Other Mom” (Pre-K – 1)

This is a specific version of the Tutorific Mentor Program available to extreme-low-income single parents who do not have extended family who can fill a mentoring role for young students who would benefit from a mother-figure or father-figure.  This program gives the child a caring mentor to help with early reading and math skills and improve behavior while giving the parent brief, welcomed respite.  This program is by application directly to Tutorific and enrollment is extremely limited in this initial stage.  Initial applications can be given to participants in any of the Tutorific After School Programs and are applicable to the participating student and/or sibling. (Tutorific is willing to consider students not involved with our program if the need is great and we can arrange an appropriate volunteer.)

At Tutorific, we innovate.
Welcome to the future of after school education!
